Santalum Album, the most desirable and the holy grail of the Sandalwood family, presents a woody, creamy, rich and calming scent. As the trees mature into decades and over a century old, the heartwoods become denser and denser, turning from a brownish orange into a dark brown, and eventually a deep dark brown, evident of the high sandalwood resin content.
Known as Misbaha مِسْبَحَة, or tasbīḥ تَسْبِيح in our Muslim community, these are prayer beads used by Muslims for the recitation of prayers, the dhikr, as well as to glorify Allah.
