Mysore sandalwood bangles are very seldom made as the requirements for the girth and the perfectness of the sandalwood heartwood raw material is very high, there must not be undesirable knots, cracks or any flaws present that would compromise the bangle's circular integrity. Also, the slabs must from dense old growth for the required hardness, and the diameter would need to be of a large enough girth to be held down properly whilst the bangle is being carved out.
