Golden Silk Nanmu 5ml (Hydrodistilled)

If you remember a strange mis-spelled word floating in the oud world years ago, “muaua”, the actual word is Mauna, and in Sanskrit it refers to a certain peaceful state of mind, an inner quietness and focus, and in this rare essential oil presents a unique woody, piney depth that gives a super quiet vibe. A viscous, mildly cloudy oil giving good midtones and a very nice deep drydown, the wood shavings used for this CO2 extraction came from the scraps collected from the making of a large Golden Silk Nan-mu furniture set. The material comes from a log that is over two metres in diameter, the tree itself is ancient, the golden streaks and clawed patterns in the wood is referred to as golden silk or 金丝. A very costly material fit for kings, the scent of this had been enjoyed by the Chinese nobility and aristocrats for centuries.
