This heavy 扳指 calibrated to a 20.5mm internal diameter, is carved from a river-matured 籽料青白 — Greenish-White Seed Nephrite. It is a piece that bypasses simple ornamentation to invoke the raw, protective power of the ancient world.
The entire focus of this ring is the prominent almost three dimensional relief mask of the Taotie 饕餮—the fierce, primordial guardian beast found on Bronze Age ritual vessels in Ancient China. The artisan has sculpted the creature's prominent, sweeping horns and hyper-focused eyes directly out of this material which also has a "Sprinkled Gold Skin" (洒金皮) patina. In ancient myth, the Taotie is an emblem of protective fury, a creature so voracious it devoured everything—including its own body—leaving only its powerful, watchful face to ward off malevolent forces. By having this totem, the ring becomes a psychological shield, a physical reminder of absolute boundaries, restraint, and internal sovereignty.
