It has been several years since we encountered Golden Triangle oud powder of this calibre. The opening is distinctly cool, offering a refreshing first impression before the fragrance develops into a heady, intensely sweet body. Beneath that sweetness is the unmistakable weight of resinous agarwood, giving the smoke both presence and depth. The term 'soil' is used here in the name of this particular material; the fragrance itself is what deserves attention. On heating, the powder reveals a progression from cool clarity to a fuller, richer sweetness, creating an experience that feels both expansive and deeply grounded.
For those who prefer to appreciate agarwood through its smoke rather than through a single chip on charcoal, fine powder offers a different kind of intimacy. The material warms as a whole, releasing its fragrance in a continuous stream that can be observed as it develops. A small quantity is enough to begin exploring its character. Use a gentle heat source and adjust the temperature gradually: the cool opening and sweet, resinous heart deserve the space to emerge in their own time.
